Logic and Lore

The best place to discover rational fiction

About

Welcome to Logic and Lore! This website is a curated database of rational fiction, bringing together media that have both consistent worldbuilding and intelligent characters (Mother of Learning, The Martian, and HPMOR are great representatives of the kind of stories you can find here), along with filtering, search over tags, and ratings. There are currently around 1500 stories, so, hopefully, it'll last you a while, and it'll continue updating automatically (see below). If you have feature suggestions or feedback, please message me on Reddit.

Where is the data from, and how do I add a rating?

It's all from comments on the Weekly Recommendation threads on /r/rational. I used the GPT-4 API to process all of the comments and infer ratings and tags from them. So, the way to add something new right now is to post on the subreddit—I'm hoping this will also help revive it. If you'd like to remove your contribution to the data (to protest the Reddit API changes or for any other reason), just message me.
